There were a number of notable snubs and surprises in the 2017 Oscar nominations which was announced Tuesday.
'La La Land' leads with 14 nods, but the list was also filled with snubs and surprises, especially in the best actress category, which has been the most competitive this season. Emma Stone and Natalie Portman were considered sure bets, but the race was tight for the remaining three spots
