Hundreds of thousands of people gathered at Ladakh region of India for the "Kumbh Mela of the Himalayas" celebration. Both monks, tourists and devotees flocked Indian for a rare Buddhist festival.
During the celebration, dancers in bright, silk costumes and striking headgear came to a stop to give way for an ambulance to drive through. Only seconds after the ambulance got through, the party continues
It was a remarkable crowd controlled system.
The festival was to commemorate the 1,000th birth anniversary of Buddhist saint Naropa.
