| Miami Marlins Pitcher Jose Fernandez Dies In Boating Accident |
One of the most dominant pitchers in professional baseball,Jose Fernandez (24) was killed in a boating crash early on Sunday in Florida said the US Coast Guard.
Fernandez, Miami Marlins star was one of three men killed when the 32-foot boat collided with a rocky jetty off of Miami Beach, the Coast Guard said. The identities of the two other crash victims were not released.
“The Miami Marlins organization is devastated by the tragic loss of Jose Fernandez,” the club said in a statement. “Our thoughts and prayers are with his family at this very difficult time.”

Emergency crews responded to reports of an boat overturned, the Coast Guard said
“They did do an initial search and they found three victims — two on top of the water, one underneath the boat and they had unfortunately passed away.”
