Swedish superstar Zlatan Ibrahimovic rejected an eye-watering €100million move to Chinese football in the summer agent Mino Raiola revealed.
Ibrahimovic signed for Jose Mourinho’s Manchester United as a free agent after seeing out the remainder of his contract with French champions PSG.
The 34-year-old joined United on a free transfer in the summer from Paris Saint-Germain.
But his agent, Mino Raiola, told Il Giornale: “Ibrahimovic is the best. He turned down €100m net from the Chinese. He doesn’t want more money, he wants to win.
“I’ve been lucky. I’ve always had champions Zlatan, (Pavel) Nedved, Maxwell and now (Blaise) Matuidi and (Gianluigi) Donnarumma,’ Raiola said.
In moving to United Ibrahimovic ensured he would still be plying his trade in one of Europe’s top leagues.
Ibrahimovic has scored six goals already this season, and was on target recently in the Red Devils’ 1-0 Europa League away victory over Ukrainian side Zorya Luhansk.
Next up United face Stoke City at Old Trafford, and a goal from Ibrahimovic could see the striker move back to the top of the Premier League goal-scoring chart.
