Twitter reacts as Nigeria Lose 2-0 to Germany

The Dream Team VI bowed out in the semi-final and Nigerians took to social media to voice their disappointment.

Nigeria's quest for Olympic football gold ended with a disappointing 2-0 defeat to Germany on Wednesday at the Corinthians Arena in Sao Paulo.


Nigeria were struggled to get upfield as the hour mark approached, with Gnabry again going close with a powerful shot. Their best chances were coming from set pieces, with Mikel bending a free-kick wide from around 25 yards.

Meanwhile, sports journalist Cristian Nyari praised the efforts of this youthful crop of German players:

The Europeans scored in either half through Lukas Klostermann and Nils Petersen to ensure the Dream Team VI will face Honduras in the bronze medal match.

Nigerians, as usual, took to Twitter to express their disappointment.
