Reports of a shooting and a hostage situation at a Moreletapark complex in Pretoria on Wednesday in Johannesburg, South Africa.
The Moreleta Park shooter and three other people were found dead after a police task force stormed the house to end a siege at a residential complex outside Pretoria.
Police spokesperson Captain Dave Miller said "The task force entered the premises and they found the deceased inside his house."
"There were three additional people dead on the outside of the house," said Miller.
It was possible that the shooter took his own life.
Although the scene has been cleared and declared safe, forensic work still needed to be conducted.
Details on the identities of the dead were not released but one deceased is believed to have been the complex's security director.
Dozens of Moreletapark community members have gathered around the complex where a man is believed to have shot at least two people.
The police have secured the area, with several streets around the complex cordoned off.

It’s believed the gunman armed with a rifle is holding hostages inside a townhouse, however, this has not been confirmed.
Neighbours say they heard several gunshots at about 2pm this afternoon.
Two police officers, company guards and the complex security director were part of a delegation that had gone to attend to the complaint.
