Jimmy Fallon rubs Donald Trump |
Thursday’s act by Jimmy Fallon didnt go down well with a lot of social media users. Many mocked the talk show host for his “willingness to serve as hell’s court jester.”
American viewers were in for a surprise on Thursday night when Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump allowed host Jimmy Fallon to tousle his hair on The Tonight Show. The business magnate-turned-Republican leader hairdo has been one of the most discussed topics in American politics. So towards the end of the show, Fallon asked the GOP candidate if he could “mess his hair up”, adding that something this silly might not be possible in the future if Trump becomes the next President of The United States.
After looking hesitant for a moment, Trump gives a nod. Mindful of the fact that he would later attend the New Hampshire rally, Trump added, “I hope the people of New Hampshire…where I am going to be an hour from now, will understand.” Fallon then goes a step further and dishevels a smiling Trump’s famous coiffure. A few seconds later, the talk show host tousles his own hair.
This comes surprising to all Trump supporters since the Republican nominee is believed to be very sensitive about his hair. Part of this could be seen in his attempts to smoothen his hair after Fallon was done.
However, this isn’t the first time the talk show host has indulged in a hairy business. Almost a year ago, Fallon had pulled Democrat nominee Hillary Clinton’s hair after she offered him to do so. That night the show had begun with Fallon wearing a wig, impersonating Trump and lecturing Clinton on how to deal with interviews. After pulling the Democrat nominee’s hair, Fallon had commented, “It’s real!”
A Twitter user also said: “When you are neutral in the presence of racism and bigotry, you are part of the problem Jimmy Fallon.”

@KatyTurNBC I will never watch Jimmy Fallon again. That's how strongly I feel about humanizing a monster— Empty the Basket (@puppymnkey) September 16, 2016
I don't fault Jimmy Fallon for not being a journalist. I do fault him for his willingness to serve as hell's court jester.— Mark Harris (@MarkHarrisNYC) September 16, 2016
