A controversial neurosurgeon, Dr Sergio Canavero wants to carry out the first human head transplant using 'Frankenstein' experiments to reanimate a human corpse to test his technique.
The team believe they may be able to conduct the first human head transplant next year using electricity to stimulate movement in dead bodies after first cutting and then reconnecting the spinal cord as a test of their technique

The essence of this experiment is to allow paralysed patient regain control of their body.
GEMINI spinal cord fusion techniques will be adopted to fuse two ends of a spinal cord in human together.
Dr Canavero claims the results prove the technique used, known as GEMINI spinal cord fusion, will also work in humans to fuse two ends of a spinal cord together.
Dr Sergio Canavero is the director of the Turin Advanced Neuromodulation Group.
